Academic Editing and Coaching
Are you in a graduate program and intimidated by having to write a thesis or dissertation? Overwhelmed by all the writing assignments you must tackle and unsure how to go about finding that academic “voice” and style that will please your professor? Are you a faculty member under pressure to produce, produce, produce, and all in the top peer-review journals or academic presses? Dr. Harper can help. Whether it is editing your academic papers, helping you conceptualize a research project, or helping you focus your mind and time to get those peer-reviewed articles out and those academic books done and over with, Dr. Harper has the skills, background, and understanding of how the process can best be accomplished as quickly and painlessly as possible—and most importantly, as insightfully as possible.
Academic editing services include content editing of peer-reviewed journal articles, grant proposals, theses, dissertations, and graduate papers. Dr. Harper has published her own work in peer-reviewed journals, written successful grant proposals for the National Science Foundation, Ford Foundation, Social Science Research Council, Fulbright Fellowship Program and others detailed in her CV. She has also supervised or served as a committee member on a multitude of graduate theses and dissertations. Her expertise in these areas is primarily in the social sciences, humanities, public health sciences, social work, nursing, education and natural sciences.

A writer’s resource where the adjectives get pinched, the adverbs get plucked, the verbs start dancing and the nouns take care of themselves. My Twitter feed provides writing tips, grammatical rules, and suggestions for getting through writer’s blocks and getting your work done and at its best.
